Vedic Hindu is a property of Vedic InfoTech and Media Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us" or "our"). This Policy explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal data associated with the Vedic Hindu mobile application, website and related services (the "Platform"), what deletion covers, and when limited information may need to be retained. Read this Policy together with our Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy.
1 Your Deletion Choices
You may request permanent deletion of your Vedic Hindu account and the personal data associated with it. You may also request deletion of particular personal data without deleting your account, subject to applicable law and any information needed to provide a service you continue to use. If removing essential information would prevent us from maintaining your account or fulfilling a service, we will explain this before proceeding.
2 How to Request Account Deletion
In the app: Open menu and select Delete your account [ खाता हटा दो ].
Follow the identity verification and confirmation steps shown.
Include your registered mobile number or email address and, if available, your account ID. State whether you want your entire account deleted or only specified data removed. Do not send your password, payment-card details or a one-time password by email.
3 Identity Verification
We use proportionate checks to confirm that the request relates to your account and to prevent unauthorised deletion. These may include confirmation through your registered contact details or a secure authenticated process. We request only information reasonably necessary for verification. If you no longer have access to your registered contact details, contact us so that we can explain alternative verification options. An authorised representative or parent or lawful guardian may need to provide evidence of authority where applicable.
4 Data Covered by Account Deletion
Following verification, we delete personal data associated with your account from active systems, subject to the limited retention described below. Depending on the features you used, this may include your profile and uploaded photograph; contact details and authentication records; preferences; listening and search history; favourites, playlists and saved content; device identifiers, notification tokens and location data linked to your account; and account-linked points, badges, leaderboard entries and contribution records. Personal data held in support communications or service records is also assessed for deletion, except where a specific retention basis applies.
5 Contributions and Public Content
We review reviews, comments, temple information and other contributions associated with a deleted account. Personal identifiers are removed or the contribution is deleted, unless lawful retention is required. Information may remain only where it has been genuinely anonymised so that it can no longer identify you, or where a specific lawful retention basis applies. We do not treat a general right to reuse content as permission to retain personal data indefinitely. Copies previously made by other users or independently published on external websites may fall outside our control.
6 Effect of Account Deletion
Permanent account deletion ends access to the deleted account. You may lose account-linked paid access, saved content, listening history, points, badges and other personalisation. Once deletion is completed, deleted data cannot be restored through the Platform. A later registration creates a new account and does not automatically restore previous data or entitlements. Uninstalling the app, logging out or stopping use does not delete your account. Temporary suspension or deactivation is not permanent deletion.
7 Subscriptions Payments and Refunds
Deleting your Vedic Hindu account does not necessarily cancel an auto-renewing subscription managed by Google Play, the Apple App Store or another payment provider. Review and cancel any such subscription through the provider that manages it to prevent future renewal charges. Cancellation is not a prerequisite for submitting a deletion request. Account deletion does not by itself create or remove a refund entitlement; refunds remain subject to the applicable purchase terms, Refund Policy and mandatory law. Contact us about payments billed directly by the Company.
8 Processing Time and Confirmation
We acknowledge requests and explain any verification needed. After verification, our standard target for deletion from active systems is 60 calendar days, or any shorter period required by applicable law. If additional time is needed, we explain the reason and expected completion date. We confirm completion through the available verified contact channel and describe any categories retained and their retention basis. If we cannot fulfil all or part of a request, we explain the reason and how to raise a grievance. Request verification and confirmation records are themselves retained only for a defined, necessary period.
9 Limited Retention Exceptions
We may retain only the information necessary and lawfully permitted for a specific purpose, such as tax and accounting obligations; transaction reconciliation or chargebacks; an unresolved complaint, refund, dispute or legal claim; compliance with a court order or other legal duty; or proportionate fraud prevention and security requirements. Retained information is restricted to the relevant purpose and is not used to recreate your deleted profile or continue account-based marketing. We delete or genuinely anonymise it when the applicable obligation or need ends. Information already irreversibly anonymised may remain because it no longer identifies an individual.
10 Backups and Service Providers
Residual copies may remain in protected backups until the scheduled backup expiry or overwrite cycle completes. Our maximum routine backup retention period is 60 days. These copies are restricted and are not used for ordinary account access. Where a backup is restored for recovery, deletion instructions are reapplied before the restored data returns to normal use, subject to lawful retention requirements. We instruct service providers processing personal data on our behalf to delete applicable data, subject to their lawful retention duties, and track completion as appropriate.
11 Independent Third Parties and Local Copies
Deleting a Vedic Hindu account does not delete your Google or Apple account, or records held independently by app stores, banks, payment providers or other independent service providers. Those organisations handle their records under their own policies and applicable law. We remain responsible for deletion instructions to processors acting on our behalf. Files or downloads stored locally on your device may need to be removed separately. Revoking a device permission or disconnecting a sign-in provider does not by itself constitute an account deletion request.
12 Consent Withdrawal and Other Rights
You may separately withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, change notification permissions or request access or correction under the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful and does not automatically erase records that must be retained for a valid legal reason. We do not require you to waive statutory rights, pay a deletion fee or give a reason for permanently deleting your account.
